The Journey So Far

What is DSC?

Developer Student Clubs (DSC) are community groups for students from any academic background in their undergraduate or graduate term. By joining a DSC, students build their professional and personal network, get access to Google developer resources, and work together to build solutions for local problems in a peer-to-peer learning environment.

So basically the great news is that UNIABUJA just got to open a chapter for DSC and a screening process was conducted.
The first step was to get members to join the club but just creating a random WhatsApp group and inviting people to join isn't just the thing, There's more to that because anyone can join a WhatsApp group and still be unserious

PHASE 1

So a Google form was generated Click Here and shared on Uniabuja WhatsApp groups and platforms to get interested participants which over 200 participants got registered after which their contact details were extracted and they were contacted through WhatsApp inviting them to join the DSC WHATSAPP GROUP

PHASE 2

After successful registration online through the Google forms and also after accepting the invite to the DSC WHATSAPP GROUP
The next step was to get the core team members, The core team members are basically the the primary core members who's sole interest to be the structure of the DSC UNIABUJA
So a screening was scheduled on the 24TH OF AUGUST 2019 but due to some member unavailability the screening was rescheduled again for members who are interested on the 26TH OF AUGUST 2019

The screening process is quite simple and straight forward
Upon arrival of members
There's are people waiting to attend to you so the first thing they do is to make sure they confirm you've registered through the Google form which is by checking for your email address on the list of registered participants
Afterwards you'd be ask questions based on the answers you provided on the Google form.
The fun part is that there is a place for everyone be you a programmer, social media influencer, graphics designer, website designer, blogger, photographer, game application DEVELOPERS, software developers, 3D animations maker,E.t.c ranging to different aspects
So core members where selected for each skill.
From analysis so far over 80 participants have been screened successfully.

This was a meeting scheduled to take place at UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA MAIN LIBRARY.

This meeting is a meet up with core members of the team also to know DSC activities and also plans for the year.

It was a successful meeting and with high hopes DSC UNIABUJA is going to make great Impact.
